Non-Resident Students

Thank you for your interest in White County Schools!

We are pleased to provide enrollment opportunities for students who do not live within the boundaries of our school system.
For students in Kindergarten through 12th grade who do not live (and will not be living) within the boundaries of the White County School System (WCSS) but wish to attend one of the WCSS schools, parents or guardians must complete an application and provide requested supporting documentation and records.

The application window will be open from June 1st-June 30th of each calendar year. Once an out-of-district child is placed, that enrollment is valid for one school year only. There is no guarantee of placement in subsequent years, and your application must be made annually during the designated window. In order to be accepted, a non-resident student shall meet all academic, disciplinary, attendance and behavioral standards of the district.

Once accepted, tuition of $500 per semester will be due on a bi-annual basis with the first payment due before the first day of school of each year. Tuition will be waived for a non-resident student whose parent, legal custodian, or legal guardian is an employee of the White County Board of Education, Pioneer RESA, or Ninth District Opportunity PreK/Head Start Program, and eligible for employee benefits. Individuals who substitute for the WCSS are employees of ESS and do not qualify for tuition waivers.

Transportation will not be provided by the White County School System outside or inside White County for non-resident students.
