The Warrior Wonders are a group of dedicated, involved parents of children who receive educational support through White County Student Services, who want their child (or children) to be successful in school and, in life.
Just like you!
The group was formed in 2016, and at that time, the focus was on graduation rates for students with disabilities. This year, we stretched our focus to reflect the research on family engagement and how it impacts student success. In addition to producing a newsletter (you can download copies) we participate in school events, help distribute the annual Georgia Parent Satisfaction Survey and review data on student performance and school climate, looking for trends, and helping parents to learn about ways they can impact their child’s education. We have meetings at least four times a year. While we currently are all parents (mostly moms) we welcome grandparents or family members who are serving as guardians of a student.
Fellowship is an important part of the Warrior Wonders. We all have discovered how nice it is to know you are not alone. We also have the support and encouragement of White County Student Services Director Dr. Mary Kay Berry.
If you would like more information or, if you are interested in becoming part of the Warrior Wonders, contact Jane Grillo, White County Schools Parent Mentor, firstname.lastname@example.org or 706-865-2315 ext 1312.
Warrior Wonders gathered at the Old Adams Store and Pottery Company to enjoy fellowship and create lovely pottery. Many of us had never decorated pottery before, but the designs were amazing!
